I thought I would take a break from trying to sell this poster and explain my process to work on some art tonight. I was looking at some interesting landscape art this evening and for some reason it made me miss doing charcoal work. With that in mind I decided to work on this portrait you see here. I found a nice reference on Creative Commons Search and got to work. Did my best to not only keep it simple but to also to emulate traditional charcoal techniques. This has me thinking about some ways to make these portraits more my own as well so this may be the beginning of some thoughtful exploration of my current portraits.
